Discussion: Core Infrastructure Initiative

== Presenter ==

Emily Ratliff, Linux Foundation

== Abstract ==

The Linux Foundation announced the Core Infrastructure Initiative on April
24 of last year to “fund and support critical elements of the global
information infrastructure” and famously funded two OpenSSL developers.
What else has the project achieved since then? Has the initiative made an
impact? This topic will present an update of what the initiative is doing,
including a brief description of the open source Census project and the
goals behind the Best Practices project. We invite a discussion about what
more needs to be done and how we can pull together as a community to
improve internet security for everybody.
JamesMorris
