Title

LF Linux Security Workgroup BoF

Leader

Corey Bryant, IBM LTC Security

Abstract

This proposal is for a BoF session in response to The Linux Foundation's desire to create a Linux security workgroup. The main goal of the working group is to provide on-going security reviews of Linux kernel subsystems to maintain trust and confidence in the security of the Linux ecosystem. These efforts may consist of running/creating automated tools, static analysis, fuzz testing, code audits, etc. There is a 2013 plan in place at IBM to contribute to these efforts on KVM/QEMU code. KVM is a prime area for investigation since protecting the host from guest breakout is a high priority for many stakeholders. This session will enable discussion with other potential contributors with an eye towards forming a working group.
